The options
- Train / metro: cheapest, most predictable timing.
- Airport express bus: cheap, direct to major stops, less predictable than train.
- Taxi from official rank: predictable, sometimes metered, sometimes flat rate.
- Rideshare (Uber, Lyft, Bolt, Grab): usually cheaper than taxi, pickup zones can be far.
- Private car / limo: expensive, includes greeter, best for jet-lagged arrivals.
- Hotel shuttle: free but scheduled; only useful if you booked a shuttle-included hotel.
- Rental car: only makes sense if you need the car at destination anyway.

Budgeting time and money
- For departures: add 30 minutes to whatever Google Maps says for the transfer. Traffic near airports is worse than the algorithm predicts.
- For arrivals: add 20-45 minutes for immigration + baggage before the transfer starts.
- For groups of 3+: private car can be cheaper per person than three separate rideshares.
- For late-night arrivals: check whether the train/bus is still running. Many airport trains stop at midnight.
- For very early departures: night bus routes exist at many major airports but with limited frequency (every 30-60 min).
